Types of Braces

Dung Orthodontics is able to provide treatment with a variety of options for braces. Thanks to the advances in modern orthodontic technology there is a braces solution to fit every lifestyle. Dr. Dung and Dr. Tom can help you find which of these options is best for you and your smile!

Metal Braces

The most common type of braces is traditional metal. They have become smaller and more comfortable with advances in orthodontic technology. Modern metal braces are made of more advanced alloy combinations that allow for less pressure and more comfort. With. metal braces, the wires are attached with colorful rubber bands.

Ceramic Braces

Ceramic braces are similar to traditional metal braces, but instead of very visible metal brackets, the brackets are made of clear or tooth-colored ceramic. We mainly use this option on teen and adult patients who are self-conscious about wearing braces. These braces are more fragile than their metal counterpart.

Invisible Braces

Invisible braces, or Invisalign, are clear removable aligners that get switched out every two weeks. These aligners are invisible and comfortable, and no one will know you are wearing braces.

Invisalign is also more comfortable and makes for easy brushing and flossing because it is removable. Also, Invisalign has none of the food restrictions of traditional or ceramic braces. Invisalign
