Orthodontic Care For Kids in the Honolulu & Aiea Area
Dr. Dung and his wonderful staff at our Aiea & Honolulu offices provide top of the line orthodontic treatment and diagnostics for children and teens. We understand that you may have several questions concerning the age in which your child should visit an orthodontist or how early treatment can give your child a healthy and beautiful smile.
When should my child first visit Dr. Dung
Typically, it is recommended that children see an orthodontist no later than age 7. Early treatment can help diagnose problems such as bad bites, crowding of teeth and more. Treating these problems early can help prevent more costly and lengthy treatment in the future. Orthodontic treatment may not be necessary for your child, but we’re happy to see your child every 6-8 months to monitor their development and jaw growth. This way we can begin treatment at the correct time for the best possible results.
What are the benefits of early treatment?
Early treatment allows Dr. Dung to guide the growth of the jaw and permanent teeth, ensuring that your child will have the healthiest smile possible. Some additional benefits include:
- Improved bite and function of teeth
- Keep teeth healthy and strong
- Make brushing and flossing easier
