Meet Dr. Lauren Todoki

Dr. Lauren Todoki is a board-certified Honolulu orthodontist and a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics whose research earned the American Association of Orthodontists’ Milo Hellman Research Award. A Honolulu native, she treats children, teens, and adults at Dung Orthodontics’ Honolulu and ʻAiea offices with braces, Invisalign®, and early treatment.

Dr. Todoki brings a rare blend of clinical skill and academic depth: before returning home, she taught the next generation of orthodontists as a faculty member at the University of Washington. Patients know her for thoughtful, evidence-based care and a genuine warmth that comes from treating Hawaiʻi families as her own community, because they are.

A Hawaiʻi Homecoming

Dr. Todoki was inspired to pursue dentistry at a young age by her father, a dentist himself. A graduate of Punahou School in Honolulu, she trained on the mainland for more than a decade before returning to the islands. Practicing in Hawaiʻi and serving the community she grew up in had always been her goal, and patients feel that sense of belonging in every visit.

Board-Certified Orthodontist (ABO Diplomate)

After completing her orthodontic training, Dr. Todoki earned her board certification from the American Board of Orthodontics (ABO), a voluntary distinction held by only about one in three practicing orthodontists. It signals advanced knowledge, judgment, and proven clinical results, reviewed and maintained over time. Learn what board certification means.

Approach to Patient Care

Dr. Todoki blends the latest orthodontic science with an unhurried, personal touch. She explains the “why” behind every recommendation, tailors each plan to the patient’s goals and budget (including in-house, no-interest financing and help filing insurance), and uses iTero® digital scanning so there are no goopy impressions. Every new patient starts with a complimentary exam.
